COMEBACK KIDS! C’s Climbing Back into Series

Published on May 2, 2013, by in Celtics, NBA.

The Knicks may have been the jokesters beforehand, but it was the Celtics who got the last laugh Wednesday night. Is this really happening?  Have the old, raggedy, Rondo-less Celtics truly managed to force a Game 6 on their home court after falling down 3-0 to a seemingly overpowering New York Knicks squad?  I wouldn’t

Worst Play in NFL History?

Published on November 26, 2012, by in NFL, Patriots.

It might very well have been the worst play in NFL history.  It certainly was the most embarrassing.  Yes, I’m talking about the “Bumble,” the “Poop n’ Score,” the play that singlehandedly swung momentum in the Pats’ favor during their 49-19 drubbing of the Jets on Thanksgiving Eve.  Mark Sanchez dropped back on what appeared

Darrelle Revis Likely Out For Season

Published on September 26, 2012, by in NFL.

On the Monday following the previous day’s overtime victory over the Miami Dolphins, the New York Jets announced that cornerback Darrelle Revis would likely miss the entire season due to a torn right ACL injury. Revis apparently suffered the injury attempting to make a tackle on a receiver. Losing Revis certainly removes a propensity of

Deja Vu

Published on September 5, 2012, by in MLB.

Ah, how sweet it is. In a season during which the Red Sox have severely underperformed, it’s certainly convenient that the Yankees have provided a purpose to watching the remainder of the MLB season play out. After holding a 10-game lead in the A.L. East on July 18th, the Bronx Bombers have managed to let

Sox Not Even Worth Watching

Published on August 17, 2012, by in MLB, Red Sox.

Not even a strong outing by Clay Buchholz could raise the spirits of Sox fans last night. Watching the 2012 Boston Red Sox has become a liability to both the health and sanity of their fans, particularly in recent weeks with stories about their dysfunctional clubhouse being published on a seemingly daily basis. The unfortunate

Sox/Yanks Losing Its Luster

Published on July 27, 2012, by in MLB, Red Sox.

Remember the days that a series between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees caused audiences worldwide to stop what they were doing to pay attention? How about when these matchups used to determine which team each one would face in the playoffs, adding further importance to the intensity of a bitter rivalry? At

Sox Season All But Over

Published on July 26, 2012, by in MLB, Red Sox.

Typically, I am one who remains positive when all has gone wrong, who maintains optimism in the light of negativity. But even I can’t keep hope much longer for the 2012 version of the Boston Red Sox, a team who’s ship is going down faster every day. Last night’s 5-3 loss to the Texas Rangers

‘Linsanity’ Going to Houston?

Published on July 17, 2012, by in NBA.

Could ‘Linsanity’ once again make its presence felt in the NBA this year with a new team, the Rockets, the beneficiary? While it had become irrelevant with the return of Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks’ starting lineup, the Jeremy Lin saga has once again picked up steam. It has nothing to do with

Sox/Yanks Series Will Tell A Lot

Published on July 6, 2012, by in MLB, Red Sox.

Ah, the greatest rivalry in baseball will once again take center stage this weekend at Fenway Park. Unfortunately for the Boston Red Sox, however, a visit from the New York Yankees could not come at a more inopportune time. Coming off of a less-than-satisfying road trip during which the Sox went 2-5 against the lowly

Freak Injury Likely Ends Rivera’s Season, Possibly Career

Published on May 4, 2012, by in MLB.

Mariano Rivera’s greatness on the mound may well have faced a permanent ending due to an injury suffered catching fly balls. It wasn’t supposed to end like this.  And frankly, for a class act like New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera, such a finale was less than deserved.  Thursday, during batting practice prior to the Yankees’ match-up
