Revolution Trade Away Captain

In a surprising move the New England Revolution traded away Shalrie Joseph to the Chivas USA. Joseph was the captain of the Revolution since 2009 and was the face of the franchise for the past few years. This move is very surprising because it means the Revolution are setting themselves up different for the future and traded away their franchise player. Many thought Joseph would retire as a member of the New England Revolution but the club thought otherwise. Manager Jay Heaps quoted saying “probably the hardest decision” he has ever made as manager. Imagine the Red Sox suddenly trading away Jason Varitek or Bruins trading away Zedeno Chara away for a second round drafted player. This is a surprising move for the Revolution and it will be interesting to see the future without Joseph. Joseph was a true player for the Revolution and we wish him the best of luck on his new team.
