Rationalizing The Irrational

Bill Belichick always has a method to his madness.
As is typical of their organization, the Patriots decided to distance themselves from the pack and choose players who would appear to most as no-names. Dominique Easley, Jimmy Garoppolo, Bryan Stark, James White, Cameron Fleming, Jon Halapio, Zach Moore, Jamea Thomas, and Jeremy Gallon rounded out New England’s picks, with Easley and Garoppolo the most well-known of the nine selections. Some of these guys have question marks, with injury concerns topping the list, but all have one important similarity: they’re all football players. Of course they are, you might find yourself thinking; that’s the sport they play. But what I’m referring to is a quality that few guys have coming out of college; the ability to put the team first and sacrifice whatever is necessary for the greater good. Bill Belichick had valued players that embody this principle since he first arrived in Foxboro, so why should we expect anything different? You must simply ‘Trust in Bill’ and the rest will take care of itself. Unfortunately for we Patriots fans, that motto hasn’t produced any championships since 2004. Hopefully, this year is the exception.
